White Gold is an alloy of Gold and can contain Palladium, nickel and other metals. Often plated with rhodium or platinum, which latter is similar in colour. Not necessarily very white, it can have a hint of yellow or dull gray. It is harder than silver, for instance, and does not tarnish. Used widely in jewellery making.
